Safer and More Accessible South Pasadena

Creating a safer and more accessible South Pasadena means implementing infrastructure improvements that prioritize the safety and mobility of all residents. Key initiatives include updating the Master Bike Plan alongside ongoing street repairs, ensuring safer routes for cyclists and pedestrians alike. By starting construction on ADA-compliant intersections, we're making strides to create a more inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of physical ability. We'll also focus on completing the Slow Street Program in the Mission Street business district to enhance walkability and reduce traffic hazards, while the installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at key intersections will make crossing our busiest streets safer for pedestrians.

Furthermore, approved roadway redesigns on Fremont, Meridian, Fair Oaks, and Huntington Drive are set to enhance traffic flow and minimize accidents, addressing areas where safety concerns have been a priority. These combined efforts reflect a holistic approach to building a city that is not only more accessible but also proactively prioritizes safety for all modes of transportation.
