Economic Growth while Preserving our History
Fostering economic growth while preserving South Pasadena’s unique history involves a balanced approach that supports local businesses and respects the character of our community. We will actively work to attract and support new businesses that align with our small-town charm, bolstering the local economy while ensuring that South Pasadena retains its distinct identity. At the same time, we'll continue to monitor and improve the city’s financial health by increasing revenues and managing expenditures, ensuring that our community remains fiscally strong and prepared for future challenges.
To further support our residents, we'll facilitate the construction of affordable senior housing projects, such as the one planned for Mound Ave and El Centro, providing much-needed options for our aging population. Preserving our historical landmarks is equally important, and I aim to oversee the transformation of the "old" public library into a state-of-the-art facility that honors its historic elements. Additionally, the sale of Caltrans properties will be managed to expand affordable housing in line with state regulations, ensuring that we create opportunities for all while preserving the historical integrity that makes South Pasadena so special.
