Issues

Get to know me positions and my goals. I want to provide clear goals of what I hope to achieve if re-elected to City Council.

In my first four years, I have made progress in each of the three goal areas listed below. Here are my top priorities to achieve over the next four years:

Safer and More Accessible South Pasadena

  • Implement an amended Master Bike Plan concurrent with street repairs
  • Start construction on ADA compliant intersections
  • Implement approved plans and completed roadway redesigns for safety improvements on Fremont, Meridian, Fair Oaks and Huntington Drive
  • Complete the Slow Street Program in Mission Street business district
  • Installation of the three Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) at all the planned intersections

Sustainable and Resilient South Pasadena

  • Complete an inventory of the native and heritage trees throughout the city; update the city's tree ordinance and maintain and improve the urban canopy to make us earn the title Tree City USA
  • Continue implementation of our Climate Action Plan and reduce the carbon footprint in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Implement the 5-year City-wide plan for street maintenance and street repairs while simultaneously replace water and sewer pipes
  • Create more green space with the completion of construction of two pocket parks: the Berkshire (dedicated to the late Dr. Beatriz Solis) and  the Grevelia, which are slated to break ground in mid October 2024
  • Complete the final design of the replacement of Westside Reservoir, which I championed in early 2021 and award the contractor to do the construction after 2025 and thereafter continue to also plan how to finance this massive construction which should be done within 3-5 years.
